THUS Systems Fit The Bill

External accreditation first for THUS billing processes

THUS has become the first telecoms provider to achieve approval against the recently upgraded Ofcom standard for Metering and Billing Direction.

Assessed by BABT, the certification demonstrates that THUS is at the leading edge of customer service in operating industry standard best practice in relation to the design and implementation of its customer billing system. The UK Metering and Billing Approval scheme requires operators to set and meet appropriate internal performance standards and monitor and maintain performance on an ongoing basis.

BABT is one of the leading metering and billing certification providers worldwide, offering a vast array of metering and billing solutions to assist its customers in meeting regulatory and commercial requirements. It is the UK Metering and Billing Approval Body for the Ofcom & Oftel Directions.

In addition to the obvious regulatory compliance benefit, achieving the standard can and should result in less customer complaints and should have a direct impact on reducing revenue leakage and improving profitability

Michael J Smith, THUS’s Finance and Performance Director says, “This is a great ‘first’ for the new THUS. Although the subject matter may seem dry to some, it is the potential impact that setting these standards has on the way that we deal with our customers that really shows its worth and demonstrates why it is important.

“If it leads to improvements in our customer service then it has already been worthwhile. If it leads to reduced revenue leakage and improves profitability then so much the better. As a minimum, it will help meet our customer pledge on clearer, accurate billing and feed in to our desire to be a pleasure to do business with”.
